TIFTON—The nursing program at ABAC Bainbridge completed another successful semester as 100 percent of the students in the Spring 2023 Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program passed the NCLEX-RN licensure exam.
The NCLEX-RN is the licensing exam that graduates must pass prior to gaining a license to practice as a registered nurse.
All eight of the May 2023 graduates passed the licensure exam on their first attempt. ABAC Bainbridge holds an overall pass rate of 88.8 percent and, according to Dr. Jeffrey Ross, Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, the percentage far exceeds both the state and national averages.
“Perfection is a difficult bar to meet, even for accomplished nurses,” Ross said. “That every ABAC-Bainbridge RN graduate from Spring 2023 passed the NCLEX on their first attempt speaks volumes about the quality education the School of Nursing provides. I am so very proud of not only the students, but also the faculty and staff within the School of Nursing.”
“The ASN program at ABAC Bainbridge has great professors and great students,” said Dr. Michael Kirkland, ABAC’s Vice President for Enrollment Management. “It is a rigorous program and we are proud of their accomplishments.”
The ABAC Bainbridge nursing program is accredited by the Georgia Board of Nursing and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
Ross added that the program’s success is also due to those who contribute beyond the scope of the classroom.
“Our faculty and staff work tirelessly to ensure the students have the knowledge they need to be successful in both the classroom and clinical arenas,” he said. “But this rare and extraordinary achievement would not be possible without the support of our local clinical partners and healthcare facilities as well as the administration of ABAC.”
