Dakota Holland joins the Fillies as Assistant Softball Coach.
TIFTON, Ga. — New Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College softball assistant coach Dakota Holland has returned to her roots and will work with first-year head coach Cara Parker.
Born and raised in Norman Park, Ga., Holland played softball at Colquitt County High School (CCHS) and earned a nursing degree from ABAC after her playing career.
“Coming back to ABAC is such a special opportunity for me. I have so many great memories from my time here as a student, so getting the chance to return in a different role is extremely rewarding,” said Holland.
Holland is a left-handed pitcher and experienced softball coach with a strong background in both competitive softball and player development.
She began her softball career at Colquitt County, where she established herself as a standout pitcher and was honored as Pitcher of the Year at CCHS in 2017. After high school, she continued her playing career at Brewton-Parker Christian University, where she further developed her knowledge and passion for the game.
Holland’s nursing degree from ABAC strengthened her understanding of the importance of athlete health, proper mechanics and conditioning to prevent injury and excel on the field.
For the past three years, Holland has worked as a private pitching coach at Fundamental Factory in Moultrie, where she has developed pitchers of all ages in all aspects of softball.
Holland’s pitching and nursing backgrounds bring a unique perspective to coaching. Her goal is to help each athlete build their athletic career at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
“I’m very excited to have Dakota!” said Parker. “Her enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for pitching will be a great addition to our program. I’m looking forward to watching her make an impact on our pitching staff while continuing to grow in her coaching career.”
Holland said, “I’m incredibly excited to work with college athletes and be a part of their development, both on and off the field. There’s something really rewarding about taking the experience I’ve gained as a player and coach and using it to help the next generation of athletes grow, compete and reach their goals. I’m especially excited to work alongside Cara Parker. We complement each other very well, and I’m excited to watch her lead this team.”
Parker was named ABAC’s new head softball coach this summer. She inherits a team that went 21-26 in 2026 and finished 10-14 in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
