On Tuesday, May 15, 2018, Captain Ryan Wimberley was elected to the Police Academy Advisory Board for the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Tifton, GA. Captain Wimberley was nominated for this position by Police Academy Director Marty Smith, and Bainbridge Public Safety Director Jerry Carter approved the nomination.
The GPSTC Tifton Police Academy Advisory board serves 39 counties and over 150 law enforcement agencies across southwest Georgia. The 16 voting members of the board are made up of Chiefs, Sheriffs, senior LE command staff members, and civilian leaders from these communities.
The board meets four times per year and provides guidance and support to the Police Academy for the training of law enforcement officers.
