It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Craig Stephen Couturier, 74, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Mr. Couturier died on June 24, 2026, at home in Bainbridge, Georgia.
Craig proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for four years and completed a tour of duty in Vietnam. He then proudly served in the United States Army and retired after twenty years in uniform. Craig went on to serve fellow veterans as a Veterans Affairs Service Officer for the State of Georgia for 22 years, retiring as Director of Veterans Benefits South Region.
Craig Couturier is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diane Couturier; his daughters, Siobhan and Erika; grandchildren, Brody, Rowan, and Ari; sisters, Linda and Coleen; brothers, Jack (Phyllis) and Jim; along with numerous other family members and friends. Craig was predeceased by his mother, Linda Morgan, his stepfather, Jimmy Morgan, and brother-in-law, Roy Scott.
He loved hunting with friends, camping with family, cruising the high seas, and Harley motorcycle riding with his Harley owners’ group. He lived life to the fullest and should always be remembered as full of good humor!
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Craig was an amazing guy who became part of our family over 40 years ago. We loved him like our son not only because he loved our daughter but because of who he was. He was a good man, kind and helpful to all. We mourn his passing but celebrate a life well lived. He lived life to the fullest. Our hearts go out to Diane, Siobhan, Erika and the grandchildren who he adored. Ride with the wind Craig. Ride with the wind.
A true gentleman and all around jam up fella! I sure enjoyed riding with him at HOG events and chatting. Sorely missed. Craig was a one in a million good guy…
So sorry to hear of Craig’s passing. I served years with him on Georgia Boys State Staff. Went to a National Convention with him a few years ago. He was a true Veterans advocate. Rest in Peace my friend.
Uncle Craig we are going to miss that heart warming smile of yours. You are going to be missed so much. Please say hello to Grandma and Grandma who we dearly miss as well.
