Ruby Dell Scott was born December 12, 1946, in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Rufus and Pansy Cumbie Scott. She was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School and spent several years working as a bookkeeper for Lamar McMillan Trucking Co. During her working years, she also served as a Southern Bell telephone operator and secretary for Bennett Seafood. Some of her favorite times were spent driving the bus for Decatur County Schools and at Betty’s Cafeteria. Ruby attended First Church of the Nazarene.
