Judy Carol Ritter Phillips

July 10, 1946 – November 24, 2025

Judy Carol Ritter Phillips, age 79, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Colquitt, Georgia.

The family will receive friends Sunday morning, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. A private, family-only, graveside service and burial will be held. Pastor Duaine Crummey will officiate. Judy will be interred beside her husband, Rev. Paschal Phillips, in Tabb Cemetery, Miller County, Georgia.

Judy Carol Ritter was born July 10, 1946, to Charles Calvin Ritter, Sr. and Trudy Barber Ritter. Judy was a beautiful person, which means beautiful inside and out. She was smart, kind, and loved by everyone she met. Judy was the matriarch of the large Ritter family. She dearly loved her many siblings and was always ready to care for them any way she could. She was married to Rev. Paschal Monroe Phillips, who preceded her in death. She was born to be a minister’s wife. She had a deep faith, loved to cook, loved playing the piano and singing, and put all her heart into everything she did. She was the best daughter, wife, sister, sister-in-law, and friend you could ever find. Judy was a nurse and retired as the Administrator of Willow Ridge Personal Care Home in Bainbridge, Georgia.

Judy Phillips is survived by her siblings, Barbara Barrineau of Colquitt, Elizabeth (Liz) Ritter of Donalsonville, Georgia, Ronald (Kathy) Ritter, Sr. of Brinson, Georgia, and Charlie (Rhonda) Ritter, Jr. of Brinson; a host of nieces and nephews; and her much-loved fur baby, Peanut. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and three sisters.

  1. I worked with Judy on med surge at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital. She was a sweet and kind person. Also smart and knew her nursing skills. I pray for comfort for those of you that will miss her. She is at home now and we will be with her one day too! God bless you all!
