Mr. Richard Russell Heath, age 77, passed away September 29, 2026, at his home in Decatur County, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Climax, Georgia. The Rev. James Scarborough will officiate.
Russell Heath was born June 18, 1949, in Climax, Georgia, to Charles Heath and Ruth Byrd Heath. He grew up in Climax and graduated from Bainbridge High School. He married Deborah Ann (Debbie) Broadhurst. They were blessed to spend 42 years together before her death in 2022. Russell loved to go fishing. He was a hardworking man who owned and ran a sign shop. He was a talented musician, playing the guitar and singing with gusto! Russell enjoyed photography and art. He worked in his yard and was proud to keep it picture-perfect. He deeply loved his family. Russell had a generous heart and freely gave of his time and funds. Most importantly, he was a good Christian man, well-respected by his community, and dearly loved by his family. He will be missed.
Russell is survived by his children, Lisa Sanders of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jeremy Hower of Waukegan, Illinois, Michael Hower of Montgomery, Alabama, and Heather Davis of Colquitt, Georgia; grandchildren, Sean Hairy, Brandon Hower, Troy Hower, Heven Davis, Angel Davis, and Josh Davis; siblings, Donald (Vicki) Heath, Deborah (Phillip) Gleaton, and Susan (Craig) Josey; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Richard Russell Heath, Jr.; and brother, Tommy Heath.
