James found joy in the simple things of life. A faithful member of Unity Church of God, he married the love of his life, Alice, on June 16, 1967, and together they built a home filled with love and laughter. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after many years of service. In his free time, James could often be found tinkering in his woodshop, outside mowing the yard with pride, or by the water with a fishing pole in hand. He loved old westerns, sports, and wrestling, and his easygoing nature made him a friend to many. James will be remembered for the laughter he shared, the stories he told, and the quiet ways he showed his love for family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Alice Jordan; his children, Kelvin & Suzy Jordan, Chris Jordan & Sheree Dean, and Amanda Jordan; his grandchildren, Celisa, Mandi, Destiny, Jordan, Alison, Josh, Caleb, Lindsey, Clay, Luke, and Emma Grace; his great-grandchildren, Hunter, Rachel, Jaxon, Macie, and Liam; his siblings, Herman Jordan, Riley & JoAnne Jordan, Willie & Elizabeth Jordan, Ronnie Jordan, and David Jordan; along with a host of extended family.
