Inspector Notes: Observed food products stored on bottom shelf of new shelving units in storage room, shelf is approximately 1-2 inches off floor. Food products stored on bottom shelf is subject to splash, dust or other contamination when floor is swept or mopped. With bottom shelf as installed, it will make it difficult to sweep or mop under shelving without moving entire shelving unit. Corrective action option 1 is to removed all food products stored on bottom shelf. Corrective action option 2 is to raise entire shelving unit so that bottom shelf or unit is at least 6″ off the floor. Owner stated he will explore option 1 or 2 and correct food product/shelving/floor separation issue by end of today (4/10/23).
