Ruby Wynelle Willis was born March 21, 1964, in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of John Wayne & Ruby Cook Willis. She married James Adkinson in 1995, and they made their home in Bainbridge. Sissy was a Christian by faith.

Helping people was Sissy’s ministry. She worked for years as a certified nursing assistant, and her patients raved about her compassionate care. Sissy loved animals, especially cats, and was probably known in the animal world as “that nice lady” providing food and shelter for strays. She was a clean freak, and her home described as one “you could eat off her floor”. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life evidenced by the beaming smile on her face as they entered the room.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, James E. Adkinson; her children, Shawn Keith Smith (Tanya) of Bainbridge, Terri Lynn Cook (Timmy) of Hampton, SC, Dennie Elaine Phillips (Keith) of Cleveland, GA, and Brand Michelle Hamilton of Carrollton, GA; her ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren (plus two on the way); and a large extended family. In addition to her parents, Sissy was preceded in death by her brother, John Wayne Willis, Jr.

Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321)
