Big Fifth Inning Propels Bainbridge Lady Cats to Victory Over Thomasville

Bainbridge Lady Cats put up six runs in the fifth on its way to a 10-1 victory over Thomasville on Monday.  Abigail Holley, Brenna Conley, Haisten Wilkinson, and Kristin Bennett each drove in runs during the inning.

Bainbridge Lady Cats got on the board in the first inning when Bennett singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Bainbridge Lady Cats put up six runs in the fifth inning.  Bainbridge Lady Cats batters contributing to the big inning included Holley, Conley, Wilkinson, and Bennett, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Conley was the winning pitcher for Bainbridge Lady Cats. The pitcher surrendered one run on two hits over five innings, striking out eight.

Matti McDougald started the game for Thomasville. McDougald went three and a third innings, allowing four runs on nine hits and striking out two. Makenna Gainous threw one and one-third innings in relief.

Bainbridge Lady Cats scattered 16 hits in the game.  Haylee Nix, Bennett, Wilkinson, Annalisa Nix, and Conley all collected multiple hits for Bainbridge Lady Cats.  Nix led Bainbridge Lady Cats with four hits in four at bats.

Thomasville was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Daylee Beaty had the most chances in the field with five.
