On Monday, February 7, 2022, in the afternoon hours, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office Investigators Vincent Edmond and Chief Investigator Elijah McCoy were on duty and located at the DCSO. DCSO Investigators agreed to assist the United States Marshall’s Office with a warrant execution for a subject named Karl Allen Hoag. Hoag was found to be wanted for felony charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device, from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, in Lake City, Florida. On Monday, February 7, 2022, at 1401 hours, Karl Hoag was arrested at 1100 Spring Creek Road Bainbridge, Georgia, by the officers with the United Marshall’s Office. Karl Hoag was turned over to DCSO Patrol Deputy Corporal Timothy Fowler, who transported Hoag to the Decatur County Jail.

On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, on at 1000, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Investigator (Inv.) Lieutenant Vincent Edmond was on duty and located at the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office. Inv. Edmond responded to the DCSO Lobby, regarding a walk-in call of a Domestic Dispute. Inv. Edmond made contact with the complainant Cheryl Smart. Contact was made with Anthony Cooper, who was identified as the other half of the domestic dispute. Anthony Cooper was later arrested for Felony Drug Charges and other related charges including two Outstanding Warrants.

On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, in the morning hours, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Investigator (Inv) Lieutenant Vincent Edmond was on duty and located in his office, at the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office. Inv. Edmond was contacted by Chuck Whitaker, who is a Bail Bondsman, with Bond Management Inc., in Bainbridge, Decatur County, Georgia. Whitaker advised Inv. Edmond that he had information on Derrick Carlton, who Inv. Edmond discovered was Wanted for an Outstanding Probation Violation and Failure to Appear Warrant, out of the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office and Bainbridge Public Safety Department. Whitaker advised that he had learned that Derrick Carlton worked at Southeastern Minerals located at 801 Spring Creek Road Bainbridge, Georgia. Carlton was arrested and transported to the Decatur County Jail.
