Teens Found in Possession of Stolen Firearm

On Saturday, November 14th around 4am, Bainbridge Public Safety Captain Toby Miller conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Washington and Perry Streets. The driver was identified as Austin Caleel Kendrick, age 18. His information was run through the E911 system and came back as unlicensed and wanted out of Bainbridge Public Safety for a Probation Violation. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Hasani Shakir Gray Burke, age 19, came back as wanted out of the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office for a Probation Violation.

Officer Trent Olhausen arrived on scene and assisted Miller in handcuffing both persons. A search of the vehicle revealed a bookbag containing a loaded black and silver handgun.  A total of twenty bullets were also found in the handgun magazine and in a pocket of the bookbag. The firearm came back as stolen out of the Tallahassee Police Department.



Austin Caleel Kendrick, 18, was arrested and charged with:

*Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (FELONY)

*Driving Without a Valid License

*Probation Violation



Hasani Shakir Gray Burke, 19, was arrested and charged with:

*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (FELONY)

*Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (FELONY)
