Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 21-2-540, a special election shall be held in the City of Bainbridge to fill the vacancy in the office of Bainbridge City Alderman District A, Seat 2, caused by the resignation of the Honorable Derik McDowell. The special election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019.
Qualifying for the special election shall be held at the Elections Office at the Courthouse Annex at 122 W. Water St., in Bainbridge beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, and ending at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019. The qualifying fee shall be $90.
All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote register to vote through the close of business on Oct. 7.
Early voting will ONLY be held at the Elections Office at the Courthouse Annex located at 122 W. Water St. The Fairgrounds will not be used for advance voting, but it will continue to be a regular polling location for voters registered in the Fairgrounds precinct.
Early voting will begin on Monday, Oct. 14, and continue through Friday, Nov. 1. Hours for advance voting will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be Saturday voting on Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. The West Bainbridge polling location is now at the School Support Center located at 507 Martin St.
