Naomi Isabelle White Devore

Mrs. Naomi Isabelle White Devore, age 80, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018, in Cairo, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Devore will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 6, at Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo. The Rev. Andrew Donaldson will officiate. Chad Gainous, Glenn Collier, Gene Lashley, B.J. Faircloth, Josh Ausburn, Dylan Faircloth. Deacons of Eastside will serve as pallbearers. The interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Naomi’s family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00.

Naomi White was born in Johnston City, Illinois, October 22, 1938, to William J. White and Elsie Mae Harris White. She worked as a Mental Health Tech at Manteo Mental Health Center for over 20 years. Naomi married Chester Devore on March 23, 1968. They enjoyed their life together. Chester preceded her in death on March 21, 2012. She and Chester moved from Illinois to Cairo in 1997. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Naomi was a part of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and the senior adult ministry at Eastside. She was a favorite of the church children, giving them all special treats every holiday.

Naomi Devore is survived by her nephew, Duane White and Wife, Treva of Pinckneyville, Illinois; niece, Catherine (Cathy) White of Johnston City; great-niece, Ariyanna White; great-nephews, Warren White, William White, and Weston White (Erica); and great-great-nieces, Libby White and Lourellie White. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, William A. White.
