Kenneth E. “Ken” Blocker

December 28, 1940 – November 25, 2018

Kenneth E. “Ken” Blocker, 77, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley Phillips and Rev. Jimmy Walden officiating. Interment will follow at Sylvania Cemetery with Brian Belcher, Michael Ingram, Kevin Combs, Todd Blocker, John Gainey and Wayne Boyett serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Morris, Pat Cutright and Greg Sellers.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com

Kenneth Elijah Blocker was born December 28, 1940 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Cleveland and Hortense Robinson Blocker. He was a graduate of Attapulgus High School and earned a certificate from ABAC in mechanics. Ken proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Ken was known as “everybody’s friend” especially at the Truck Stop with the coffee crowd. He met many people over the years while working with Decatur County Sheriff’s Department and “swapping junk”. His real job was as a heavy equipment operator where he proved that big machines were only as good as the ones operating them. Ken enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Mickey Ingram Blocker; his children, John Blocker of Ashford, AL, Ken Blocker of Valley Springs, SD, Debbie Blocker of Pennsylvania, Murry (Audrey) Ingram of Colquitt, GA, Missy (Woody) Belcher of Bainbridge, GA and Mandy (Ricky) Harrison of Donalsonville, GA; his grandchildren, Danny, Shawn, Jennifer, Harley, Cash, Michael & Kristen, Beth & Joe, Kristina & Ashley, April & Kyle, Brian & Mallory, Jacklyn & Alex and Jalyn; his great-grandchildren, Sierra, Kelsey, Khloey, Emma, Gambler, Benji, Rayleigh, Eli, Grant, Evie, Maddox and Rhett; his brother, Jeffrey Blocker of Grady, AL; and his sisters, Lois Gainey, Marilyn Blocker and Jo Pitman. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his siblings, Danny Blocker and Joan Nelson.
