Cheryl Carvajal Author Event

We are thrilled to welcome author Cheryl Carvajal to the Decatur County – Gilbert H. Gragg Library on Saturday, October 27th! Come to the library at 10 am for a reading of her new novel The Ghost Portal: “Thomas Forester is not an ordinary teenager, but his extraordinary gifts are a secret. When his uncle Ian — a man Thomas has never laid eyes on before—kidnaps him, Thomas realizes Ian knows all his secrets—secrets Thomas must discover for himself. Thomas falls into a supernatural adventure beyond imagination” (from back cover).

After the reading, Cheryl Carvajal will lead a writer’s workshop at 11:15 am. Come learn about preparing and writing your novel!

Finding Your Roots with FamilySearch

Come to the library on Friday, November 9th at 4 pm for Finding Your Roots with FamilySearch. This program will introduce you to FamilySearch, a free online family history resource. The program will include basic information about the resource and will give participants the opportunity to make an account on FamilySearch and begin exploring their family tree and family history. Please register in advance by calling the library at 229-248-2665.
