On Thursday June 16, 2022, at 1324 hours, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Vincent Edmond was on duty and located in Bainbridge, Decatur County, Georgia. Investigator Edmond received a phone call from Decatur County Jail Commander Captain Donna Thompson, in reference to Possible Illegal Drugs being found in the Decatur County Jail. Inv. Edmond advised Captain Thompson he would respond to the jail and investigate the matter.

On Friday, June 17, 2022, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office Investigator (Inv.) Vincent Edmond was on duty and located at the Decatur County Courthouse located at 112 W. Water Street Bainbridge, Georgia. Inv. Edmond saw a press release from the Colquitt Police Department in Miller County, Georgia that read that Girlonzia Norwood McDaniel aka Lonnie McDaniel had been arrested for a felony Burglary that occurred in Colquitt, Miller County, Georgia on June 6, 2022. Inv. Edmond noted that Girlonzia McDaniel had been arrested by the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office January 5, 2022, for felony charges in reference to the theft of a motor vehicle in 2019. Inv. Edmond will submit a warrant request for Girlonzia McDaniel for Violation of Bond Conditions and will seek to have McDaniel remanded back to the Decatur County Jail until he faces trial.

On Saturday, June 18, 2022, at approximately 0813 hours, Deputy Collins was patrolling the area of Brinson Air base Road and Zorn Road, in Bainbridge, Decatur County, Georgia, when he observed a white Toyota Camry fail to stop at the sign at that intersection. Deputy Collins turned on Bethel Road in order to perform a traffic stop but was unable to catch up to the vehicle until the intersection Bethel Road and Zorn Road. At this point, Deputy Collins performed a traffic stop on a white Toyota Camry bearing Florida tag. Deputy Collins made contact with the driver, and told him the reason for the stop, and asked him for his driver’s license. The driver, later identified as Fidel Cruz Sanchez, handed Deputy Collins an unstamped passport from Mexico and his application for citizenship. Deputy Collins ran Fidel’s name and date of birth through EAgent on his in-car computer and found that Fidel did not have a license at all. Deputy Collins made contact with Fidel again and advised him that the paperwork he handed him would not work and told him he would be placed under arrest for Driving Without a Valid License.

On Monday, June 20, 2022, at approximately 2042 hours, Cpl. Vontrail Fletcher and Deputy David Kirkland, responded to 2654 Old Whigham Rd, Bainbridge Ga. In reference to a Domestic. Upon arrival, Cpl. Fletcher spoke with the offender, Jonathan Owens, who was standing out in the front yard yelling and pacing back and forth.

On Monday, June 20, 2022, at approximately 2027 hours, Dep. Roddrick Murphy responded to 2647 Fowlstown Road, in reference to an unknown problem. Upon arrival, Dep. Murphy made contact with Brittany Middleton and Crystal Summerlin. Brittany stated to Dep. Murphy that Crystal’s ex-boyfriend Bryan Harrell came onto her residence causing problems for no reason. Brittany stated to Dep. Murphy that Bryan had also followed her son and Crystal from the store to the residence. Brittany also stated that she told Bryan he was not allowed back on the residence and that when she threatened to call the cops, he left the residence.
