Mr. James (Jim) Evans Lee, age 88, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away very peacefully late Thursday evening, October 1, 2026.

James Evans Lee was born on October 28, 1937, in Lakeland, Florida. His parents were Henry Evans Lee, who was born in Samson, Alabama, and Bessie Ruth Waddell Lee, born in Anniston, Alabama. Jim graduated from Ft. White High School in 1956. He retired from CSX after 42 years of faithful service as a freight agent. Jim was a member of the Bainbridge Lions Club and the Decatur County Roping Club. He loved the outdoors and was happiest when he was fishing and hunting. He was a well-respected Christian man in the community. Jim married the love of his life, Emma Ruth Smith, on April 27, 1960, and they were married for 56 years until her death on July 14, 2016. He was an avid Florida Gator and shared his devotion to the Atlanta Braves with his daughter, Pamela. Mr. Lee will be sorely missed.
Jim Lee is survived by his daughter, Pamela Ruth Lee of Bainbridge; his son-in-law, Joe Reid, and special grandson, Justin James Reid, both of Traverse City, Michigan; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his daughter, Susan Melinda Lee Reid.
