Daisy Louise Chapman, age 87, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away at Southeast Health Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama, on Monday, August 10, 2026.
Graveside services for Mrs. Chapman will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, August 14, at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Bainbridge, GA. The Rev. James Scarborough will officiate.
Daisy Louise Chapman was born on February 3, 1939, in Chauncey, Dodge County, Georgia, to John David Purvis and Mary Daisy Black Purvis. She married her soulmate, Hershell M. Chapman, Jr., who preceded her in death. They were married 54 years. Louise worked for the Board of Education, where she retired with 32 years of service. Her favorite thing was fishing! Bream fishing at Lake Seminole and trout fishing at Port St. Joe. She also enjoyed gardening and kept a beautiful garden all her life.
Louise leaves behind one brother, Carl Purvis; two sons, Hershell (Tripp) Chapman and Trent Chapman; four grandchildren, Haley Chapman, Hilary Chapman, Brian Mock, and Heather Williamson; and numerous great-grandchildren. The family will not be gathering locally but wants to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. This matriarch will be missed by her family and friends. Rest in peace: Lou, Mom, Nana.
