Donnie Ray Miller, 70, of Iron City, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Mylan Brookins and Pastor Roy Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Michael Godby, Johnny Godby, Jonathan Nichols, Christopher Barber, Dusty Smith, and Meed Kelley serving as active pallbearers.

Donnie Ray Miller was born September 30, 1955, in Donalsonville, GA. He was a graduate of Seminole County High School, Class of 1974. Donnie Ray married Cecelia Barber and the two of them spent their lives farming and raising cattle in Seminole County. He was Baptist by faith.

Donnie Ray was a hardworking farmer who believed in staying busy earning the title “workaholic”. In his playbook, everybody ought to work. He loved watching things grow, from the crops in his fields to the grandchildren he adored.

A natural storyteller with a good sense of humor, Donnie Ray could make just about anyone laugh and never met a stranger. He was known for giving the best hugs and making people feel welcome. In his younger years, he enjoyed showing horses though hunting and fishing always topped the list of spare time activities. He took great pride in his work, loved big, and was happiest when he was on the farm.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Cecelia Barber Miller; his son, Malory Miller (Laura); his parents, W.H. & Patricia Miller; his god daughter, C.J. Jackson; his grandchildren, Will & Jeb; his sisters, Donna Alday and Susan Shiver (Matt); and his best dog, Dougie.
