Cynthia Jean Putnal, age 64, of Lake Seminole, Georgia, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026, at her home surrounded by loved ones.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, August 24, 2026, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home, 502 S. Scott Street, Bainbridge, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the conclusion of the service.
Cindy was born August 25, 1961, in Fairfax, Virginia, to Joseph Harrison Hughes and Betty Jeanette Elkins Hughes. She grew up in Bainbridge, Georgia. Cindy married Gary Putnal and they have shared life together for 48 years. She was happiest around water and loved being outside. Sitting beside the pool, waterskiing, enjoying the sunshine, working on Wordsearch puzzles, these things made her smile. Cindy was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She liked everything neat and tidy. Cindy might have been a bit strong-willed but was always the life of the party. This loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister will be forever missed and never forgotten.
Cindy Putnal is survived by her husband, Gary Putnal of Lake Seminole; children, Britt Bennett (Cliff) of Lake Seminole, Kristi Longshore (Jordon) of LaGrange, Georgia, and Clint Putnal (Cierra) of Columbia, Alabama; siblings, Robert “Bobby” Hughes of Bainbridge and BettyJo “Jojo” Howell (Will) of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Courtney Lee Cooper of Lake Seminole, Hunter Tyler Bennett of Bainbridge, Grayson Perryman and Grailynn Putnal of Columbia, and Brantley, Brody and Landon Longshore of LaGrange; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Brenda Gail and Teresa Ann.
