Mr. Robert Ernest Malone, age 78, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia.
Services for Robert will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Humphries will officiate. The service will conclude in the chapel. Robert will be buried in Oak City Cemetery.
Robert was born June 16, 1947, in East Chicago, Indiana. Born with Cerebral Palsy, Robert was the smallest living baby to be born in that hospital at that time. Young Robert endured many challenges throughout his life. He eventually lived in Atlanta, Georgia, with the Lambert family that he loved and remembered in his prayers. When Robert came to live at the Duvall Home in Bainbridge, a great staff and the sweet residents welcomed him. He thrived and was known for his happy disposition and love for life. Robert was an active member of First Baptist Church of Bainbridge. He was very active in The Special Friends Sunday School Class, the Worship Services, the Wednesday night suppers, and Prayer meetings. He always had a long list of people for whom he was praying.
Robert lost his sight in 2000 from glaucoma and macular degeneration, but you never heard him complain. He loved music, and on Wednesday nights at prayer meetings, you could hear him singing and sometimes harmonizing. The Atlanta Braves were his favorite sports team, and he could always tell you about their games and their record.
Robert loved the Lord and always wanted to pray for others. He will be missed by his FBC Bainbridge family, the former staff members of Duvall House, and the Collins Family.
