DeWayne Danford Guthrie, age 46, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026, at his home in Brinson, Georgia.
Services for Mr. Guthrie will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 am, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. Todd Gainous will officiate. The service will conclude in the chapel. Mr. Guthrie will be interred in Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 10:00 AM.
DeWayne Danford Guthrie was born in Thomasville, Georgia, June 12, 1979, to Danny Ray Guthrie and Betty Sadler Guthrie. He grew up in Brinson and was a graduate of Bainbridge High School Class of 1997. Until he became disabled, he loved to go fishing. DeWayne loved his family. Recently he was inside and at home most of the time and communicated with his friends online. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Sadler Guthrie of Brinson; aunt, Brenda Adams of Cairo, Georgia; uncle, Marvin Sadler of Norman Park, Georgia; and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Ray Guthrie.
