ABAC Bainbridge fall graduates achieve 100 percent NCLEX pass rate

Fall 2023 Graduates from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College’s Bainbridge campus scored a 100 percent pass rate on the new NextGen NCLEX exam licensure exam.

This cohort was among the first groups nationwide to experience the new NextGen NCLEX exam, which was introduced last April, according to Dr. Jeffrey Ross, Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences.

“The NextGen NCLEX introduced major changes to the exam’s format, with more emphasis on critical thinking, case studies, and scenario-based problem solving to measure the graduate’s ability to practice at the bedside,” Ross said. “With a 100 percent pass rate, these graduates have exemplified their commitment to nursing, dedication, and hard work by overcoming this new, more challenging exam.”

Ross complimented the ABAC Bainbridge nursing faculty and staff for their hard work on preparing students for the exam. Also, he added that all graduates from Fall semester now have jobs.

“The achievement of the 100 percent pass rate for both the Spring and Fall 2023 graduates is a testament to the hard work of our faculty, staff, and clinical partners that are dedicated to supporting students in becoming safe, caring, and competent nurses,” he said. “The RN program in Bainbridge, which I have been a part of since 2009, has a long-standing tradition of excellence in meeting the healthcare needs of our community and service areas. I’m extremely proud of the caliber of nurses we’re creating at ABAC Bainbridge, and happy to see yet another class earn their licensure.”
