Darin stated that on November 3, 2023, around 1600 hours, he left the property and was going out of town; he made sure that the utility gate was secured and locked. Darin stated that when he came back on January 12, 2024, around 2100 hours, he noticed that his utility gate and lock been damaged, as if someone ran through it with a vehicle. |

While there, Sgt. Hughes was reviewing the Sex Offender Files when he discovered that on Friday, January 12, 2024, offender, Lamar Harrell, submitted his Annual Sex Offender Registration Packet with the Decatur County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Registry. Sgt. Hughes observed on the registration packet that Harrell's employment status had changed from Self-Employed to employed, and he also listed a new vehicle. All registered sex offenders are required to register within seventy-two hours of a change. Lamar Harrell was arrested and booked in to the Decatur County Jail, for Failure to Meet Sex Offender Registry Requirements. |
