Pierce Taunton places in the State FFA EMC Event

Bainbridge FFA member Pierce Taunton recently placed 4th in the State FFA Agricultural Electrification Career Development Event.  The event was held at the FFA-FCCLA Center in Covington in March.

Taunton became eligible to compete in the state event after winning the Area 5 FFA Agricultural Electrification Career Development Event.



Participants in the FFA Agricultural Electrification Career Development Event demonstrate the proper use of electrical tools, present a speech/demonstration on an electrical energy-related topic, answer problem solving questions pertaining to electrical wiring and rural electrification and complete an assigned wiring problem based on The National Electrical Code.  FFA is a national organization of over 600,000 members preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture.  FFA is an integral part of the agricultural education program in public schools.  The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Taunton a recent graduate of Bainbridge High School is the son of Pierce and Trish Taunton of Bainbridge.  Mark Lashley and Victoria Hill are the FFA Advisors at Bainbridge High School.

The FFA Agricultural Electrification Career Development Event is sponsored by Georgia’s Electric Membership Corporations as a special project of the Georgia FFA Foundation.
