On the afternoon of Tuesday, January 25th, Bainbridge Public Safety Fire Chief Doyle Welch was presented with a grant in the amount of $9, 975 from Motiva Enterprises.  Welch applied for the 2021 First Responder Grant several months ago and was notified in early December that the Bainbridge Public Safety Department was a recipient.

Welch plans to use the funds to replenish supplies of fire-fighting foam and stated, “This grant will allow our department to have fire-fighting materials on hand for use when the need arises, not only in Bainbridge but the entire Southwest Georgia area.”  He added, “We are very grateful to Motiva for partnering with us and providing us with this grant that will allow us to have the supplies necessary to keep our citizens safe.”
