The Bainbridge FFA Chapter held its monthly meeting on November 16th at Bainbridge High School. This meeting was one of the highlights of the year. The officer team coordinated a thanksgiving dinner style meeting to recruit new members, highlight accomplishments and encourage team building. Every officer and member was asked to bring canned goods and non-perishable items to be donated to the St. John’s Little Free Pantry in Bainbridge, GA. Prizes were awarded for the member who brought the most canned goods and non-perishable items. John David Bell won this by bringing in over 20 pounds of canned goods and non-perishable items.
The officers and over 30 members enjoyed turkey and all of the traditional thanksgiving sides and desserts! After the meal, the students were split into teams for a cornhole tournament. During the cornhole tournament, students also practiced their roping skills on a roping dummy. The winners of the corn hole tournament were Pierce Taunton and Ashton Aldridge. After their victory, they challenged the advisors to a friendly cornhole game. This meeting taught leadership through service by bringing items to donate to the food pantry, encouraged new members to come by offering a family style meal and team building by offering a corn hole tournament for members.
