Southwest Georgia Farm Credit and Reynolds Jeffords Insurance Company donate funds to upgrade YMCA playground
The Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA announces the reopening of its outdoor playground, now equipped with a newly constructed surrounding fence. The 4 ft high safety fence was the product of two local companies coming together to meet an immense need at the Y.
“For nearly a year now, Kid’s Club participants haven’t been allowed to play on our wonderful playground. After an on-site inspection, we were required to build a fence around the playground equipment for safety reasons” said Suzanne Brandt, the YMCA Interim CEO, “This month, Southwest Georgia Farm Credit and Reynolds Jeffords Insurance Company responded willingly to the need and shared the cost of fencing the area. Rosy cheeks, smiles and laughs have welcomed the return of the children to the playground. We are so grateful!”
Paxton Poitevint, President of Southwest Georgia Farm Credit and past member of the YMCA Board of Directors, recognized the need for local investment into the YMCA, particularly its children’s facilities. “We value the after school childcare services the YMCA Kids Club provide to working parents who need a safe and fun environment for their children to go to after school. The new playground fence will allow the Kids Club participants to play outside with no safety concerns.”
Bill Reynolds, President of Reynolds Jeffords Insurance Company and past president of the YMCA Board of Directors, was grateful his company could help make the project a success saying “We encourage other businesses to consider supporting the YMCA.
