Virtual Learning extended until September 13 for Decatur County Schools

Message from Decatur County Schools

Decatur County Parents and Guardians,

Decatur County Schools was scheduled to return to face to face instruction on Tuesday, September 7th.

However, at this time virtual learning will be extended until Monday, September 13th. We understand the challenges this creates for our families and it is our hope to return to face to face instruction as soon as possible.

We will continue to update you if anything changes.

  1. If Decatur county had a mask mandate maybe it would have prevented our schools from having to close.
    I don’t put politics behind wearing a mask, I put our safety behind it.
    Hope our elected officials will consider adopting this policy asap.

  2. I don’t understand why a school system would hire a high school principal who had such little regard for the safety of the students and staff. Perhaps they should do some better screening when hiring or promoting administrators. Maybe the next one will understand the that best leaders lead by example. We can only hope.
