On Friday November 27, at approximately 2300 hours, Deputy Kirkland observed a black Toyota Sequoya traveling East on Spring Creek Rd. As Kirkland followed the vehicle, Kirkland observed the vehicle weaving from the curb side of the lane to the center line of the two-lane road. The driver, Sankitbhai Patel, was placed under arrest for DUI and Failure to Drive in Lane.

On November 27, 2020, at approximately 2357 hours, Deputy Dustin Strickland and Sgt. Austin Spence were conducting a separate traffic stop at Spring Creek Rd./Airport Rd. Just as Deputies were finishing the traffic stop, Deputies observed a small vehicle approaching the scene at a high rate of speed and Deputies quickly stepped out of the way of the vehicle. Sgt. Spence used his department issued flashlight to get the attention of the driver/offender, Tyrone Murphy, and to stop the vehicle. Murphy came to a complete stop and opened the driver side door. Sgt. Spence asked Murphy where he was travelling to and Murphy hesitated; at this time, Sgt. Spence observed an open container in the center console and advised Murphy to pull the vehicle over. Murphy advised he was going too, but Murphy put the vehicle in drive and continued to slowly drive away from the scene. Deputies observed that Murphy was not stopping and Deputies yelled at Murphy in an attempt to get his attention. As soon as Deputies yelled for Murphy, he pressed the gas pedal on the vehicle and accelerated to a high rate of speed.
