On Monday, September 28, 2020 at approximately 1445 hours, Inv Gabriel Cofer, and Lt Johnny Presilla were located on duty, in Lt. Presilla’ s patrol vehicle, in Decatur County, Georgia. E-911 advised that Grady County Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit of a vehicle heading into Decatur County on US HWY 84 East. E-911 further advised that the driver of the vehicle was a Wanted Person, with warrants out of Grady County. Inv Cofer and Lt Presilla activated emergency lights and siren, and proceeded from their location to HWY 84 to intercept the pursuit and ensure the safety of the general motoring public. Shortly after turning around and trailing the pursuit, Inv Cofer heard GSP Trooper Brian Palmer advise he attempted to deploy stop sticks on the vehicle, had failed, and the driver had almost run him over. The pursuit continued into Miller County where the driver was subsequently stopped and arrested.
