Shooting Results In Death – Suspect Arrested

UPDATE 5:00pm: ARREST MADE
According to Investigator Chip Nix, Jamel Christopher Jackson was arrested by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office today around 4:30pm. He entered the Donalsonville Hardee’s Restaurant and was recognized. Donalsonville Police Department arrived on scene and placed him under arrest. He is being brought back to Bainbridge Public Safety for booking and is charged with Murder.

Early Monday morning around 2am, E911 dispatched Bainbridge Public Safety to the Emergency Room of Memorial Hospital in reference to a person shot. Sergeant Toby Miller responded. According to Investigator Chip Nix, a card game at a residence on Dennard Street turned into an altercation, resulting in the shooting death of Leon Monroe Chandler, age 34.

The shooter, who fled the scene, has been identified as Jamel Christopher Jackson, age 48. Jackson should be considered armed and dangerous.
