The Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) Foundation recently received a generous donation from Georgia Power. In addition to serving our communities for decades, Georgia Power has been a champion for technical education and has shown that support through numerous donations to the SRTC Foundation. On September 5th, Georgia Power’s Brent James and Fred Rudbeck presented SRTC President, Dr. Craig Wentworth, with a donation to the College’s Foundation.

The Foundation will use these funds to support general scholarships that reward students for their academic achievement. They will also provide financial support to students who need assistance with tuition, books, and other fees. By offering more scholarships for students, the Foundation and SRTC hope to improve the skills, technical training, and educational level of the citizens of their community.

“Georgia Power’s generous support of SRTC students is genuinely appreciated. Changes to HOPE Scholarship and HOPE Grant over the last several years have forced many students to seek additional assistance from the Foundation, assistance that would not be possible without the continued support from our College partners like Georgia Power,” commented Amy Maison, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Marketing, and Public Relations.

“Without the generosity and support of our community partners like Georgia Power, we would find it much more difficult to provide the services that are vitally important to both our students and our community,” stated Dr. Craig Wentworth, SRTC President.
