September 19, 1945 – September 8, 2018

Forrest Cain, Jr., 72, of Climax, GA, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Larry Wayne Sims officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery with David Lollie, Jamy Steinberg, Israel Guerra, Ivan Backerman, Mike Phillips and DeWitt Phillips serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m., on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com. Forrest Cain, Jr. was born September 19, 1945 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Forrest Cain, Sr. and Lula Mae Fuller Cain. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and a member of Soul’s Port United Pentecostal Church. Forrest retired from Coastal Lumber Company as a safety & security officer. He also served his community for many years as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Family was very important to Forrest. He always put others first and spent many hours doing for others expecting nothing in return. He enjoyed working in his yard and collecting coins. Forrest recognized value in the details from relationships to metals in his coin collection.

Survivors include his daughters, Michelle “Shelly” Cannon and her husband, Henry, of Tallahassee, FL and Melisa Moore and her husband, Chris, of Climax, GA; his grandchildren, Parker, Andrew, Christopher, Hunter, Reagan, Jacob, Chase, Jake and Kayleigh; and his longtime companion, Millie Gray. In addition to his parents, Forrest was preceded in death by his sister, Shelby Jean Phillips.
