Mrs. Mary Alice Addison Barr, age 83, passed August 14, 2018, at her home in Donalsonville, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Barr will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2018, at Spring Creek Baptist Church, Donalsonville, Georgia. The Rev. Brian Hatchett and Mr. Luke Watson will be officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Clay Houston, Myron Parker, Josh Key, Clay Parker, Hugh Wright, and Gary Strickland will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Mary Alice Addison was born November 22, 1934, in Colquitt, Georgia, to William Amos Addison and Alma Monday Addison. She married Louie Frank Barr. They have been married over 60 years. Mary Alice was a registered nurse. She was dedicated to nursing and served in that profession for 46 years. Mary Alice loved living at the lake and loved to fish. She was a great dominoes player and loved the Atlanta Braves. Mary Alice was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. Dearly loved by her family, she will be sorely missed by her many, many friends.
Mary Alice Addison Barr is survived by her husband, Louie Frank Barr of Donalsonville; daughter, Linda Gail Houston and husband, Tyler of Donalsonville; grandchildren, Lisa Salter of Bainbridge, Jennifer Parker and husband, Myron, of South Carolina, Clay Houston of Donalsonville, and Kerie Jeffrey and husband, Jason of Florida; 9 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James, Ralph, Leon, and Bill Addison.
