Mable Scott

October 18, 1928 – August 5, 2018

Mable Scott, 89, of Brinson, GA, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kim Whitehead. Private interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery.

Mable was born October 18, 1928 in Brinson, GA the daughter of Henry Washington Scott and Ola Phillips Scott. She was a graduate of Brinson High School. Mable worked for several years at Williamson- Dickie and over 30 years with Amoco Fabrics and Fibers. She was a member of Highway Freewill Baptist Church.

Over her lifetime Mable was many things to many people, but to her family she was a second mother. Her family was a very important part of her life and everyone knew that the welcome mat was always out. She kept in touch with her folks on the telephone and was a reliable source of information for the Cyrene and Brinson communities. She was a standout basketball player in high school and never lost her love of the game. In her spare time she could be found on a pond dock fishing or somewhere taking candid photos of friends and family.

Survivors include several nieces and many cousins. Mable was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Jim Crow Scott and Myrtice Scott Brown.
