Sarah C. Johnson, 83, of Faceville, GA, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Johns and Rev. Donnie Browning officiating. Interment will follow at Sylvania Cemetery with David Johnson, Mark Barber, Scott Howell, Sid Murray, Sean Neel, Ronnie Spooner, Jerry Cooper and Ronnie Smith serving as active pallbearers.

Sarah Cox was born January 21, 1935 in Altha, FL, the daughter of Norman and Lillian Cox. She graduated from high school in Valley, AL. Sarah married Alvin S. “Turkey” Johnson in 1954 and made her home in the Faceville Community. She was a member of Faceville Baptist Church.

Sarah was known for a huge and loving heart. She was a natural giver and touched every person she met. Sarah sang in the church choir and played the piano for over 40 years. Her favorite place was outdoors where she enjoyed gardening and watching the flowers bloom. She was quite crafty and shared her ceramics and sewing projects with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Alvin S. “Turkey” Johnson; her daughters, Alva Sue Johnson Basford and her husband, Bob, of Chattahoochee, FL and Marilyn E. Hall and her husband, Dick, of Grand Junction, CO; her siblings, Vera Ingram of Recovery, GA, Mary & Donnie Browning of Wetumpka, AL, Linda & Terry Dozier of Opelika, AL, Janice Bryan of Chattanooga, TN and Curtis Willis, Jr. of Ringgold, GA; her grandchildren, Brian Scott & Bebe Thompson, Michael J. Thompson and Hank Keels; and her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Thompson, Ashton Thompson and Jaden Dibenedetto. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Cox and Lillian and Curtis Willis, Sr.; her son, Norman Wayne Johnson; and her sister, Louise Roberts.
