Sue was born September 18, 1936 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Robert L. Lynn and Trudie Barbree Lynn. She was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School, Class of 1957, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

“Mom”, “Nanny Sue,” “Grandma” ~ Sue loved her family and most especially, her grandchildren ~ Jennifer, Matthew, Rion, Olivia, Spencer, Courtney, Kaylee and Karsyn. She was happiest when everyone was in the kitchen, at home together, celebrating the holidays in Bainbridge preparing turkey, homemade dressing, peas, butterbeans, corn, and giblet gravy. Holiday meals were only complete with the cheery delivery of pies and cakes from her lifelong friend, Marilyn Dodson. One of Andy Kaye, Hank, Anna and Dale’s favorite memory’s from their youth was Sue’s hand-churned ice-cream made with peaches from the trees on the family property.

Sue was a true Southern lady who loved caring for her home; she had a watchful eye that appreciated thoughtful work, attention to detail, and subtle beauty. Her dearest friend, Mr. Marvin Rentz said, “Your momma smiles when she sees pretty things.” She always wanted to look her best when with friends, with head held high, a quick wit and always something funny to say. She truly enjoyed people and wanted them to smile and enjoy the day with her. Long-time Bainbridge residents describe her as someone with a generous, sincere, and giving heart. Her dear neighbors, Delores and Leigh Ann Grey shared that Sue gave them more quarts of farm fresh peas, corn, and butterbeans than they could count – and would offer anything in her home to a friend in need.

While Sue had a deep faith in Jesus Christ, a giving heart, and a deep love, she was fiercely protective of her family and friends. Sue was a beautiful lady, a proud mother, and a cherished friend. She is deeply loved and will be tremendously missed by her family and loved ones.

Survivors include her children, Andy Kaye Walsh and her husband, Patrick of Dallas, TX, William Henry “Hank” Blanchard, Jr. and his wife, Celissa of Suwanee, GA, and Anna Blanchard Murrah and her husband, Gil, of Bainbridge, GA; and her grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Walsh, Matthew Michael Walsh, Rion Murrah, Olivia Murrah, Spencer Blanchard, Courtney Blanchard, Kaylee Blanchard, and Karsyn Blanchard. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dale Blanchard; her husbands, Howell Cook and William Henry Blanchard; and her siblings. Felix Lynn, Jesse June Lynn Irvin, and Thomas Lynn.

A reception for her family and friends will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at her home, 2730 Dothan Road, Bainbridge, GA. All of her friends are invited and encouraged to come.
