On Tuesday, April 20, 2021, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Investigator (Inv.) Vincent Edmond was on duty and located in Decatur County, Georgia. Inv. Edmond was contacted by phone by DCSO Chief Inv. Elijah McCoy and advised of a possible marijuana grow going on at a residence on Cooktown Road. Inv. Edmond launched an investigation into this matter. On Wednesday, April 21, 2021, Inv. Edmond made contact with Bainbridge Public Safety (BPS) Inv. Mark Esquivel. Inv. Esquivel advised that he had made contact with a concerned citizen who reported marijuana being grown at 2991 Cooktown Road Colquitt, Decatur County, Georgia. Inv. Esquivel stated that the concerned citizen reported seeing several marijuana plants in and or around this property. The concerned citizen advised Inv. Esquivel that a Charles Lizotte aka “Chuck” and Tonya Chambless lived at this property and that “Chuck” was the one growing the marijuana. Later in the afternoon hours, on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, Inv. Edmond made contact with Special Agent in Charge (SA) Eric Schwalls with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Southwest Georgia Regional Drug Enforcement Office (SWGRDEO) based in Albany, Georgia. On this date and time, the offender was arrested and transported to the Decatur County Jail.

On May 3, 2021, at approximately 1626 hours, Corporal Timothy Fowler and Deputy Andrew Davidson responded to 207 Country Lane Trail, Climax, Ga., in reference to Threats. Upon arrival, Cpl. Fowler made contact with Norman Rowan, who stated that Brian Cox had taken his daughter, Jean Burney’s, belongings and threw them out of the house without filing a legal eviction.

On Friday, April 30, 2021, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Investigator (Inv.) Vincent Edmond was on duty and located at the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office. Investigator Edmond made contact with Georgia Bureau of Investigation Agent Dustin Peak at the DCSO and Agent Peak advised that he had information that a Wanted subject name LaLana Henderson was located in or around the area of Jones Road or Holt Road in Climax, Georgia. Inv. Edmond, Agent Peak, and DCSO Investigators Monteze McCall and Bill McClanahan then relocated to this area and found a female fitting the description of LaLana Henderson walking with a white male on Holt Road. Deputies and Agent Peak made contact and got out with the male and female and it was confirmed that the female was LaLana Henderson. The male with her was identified as Justin Collins. Henderson was handcuffed and arrested with no incident and transported to the Decatur County Jail by DCSO Investigators McCall and McClanahan.

On Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at approximately 0737 hours, deputies were dispatched to the Solar Farm, Site (1), located on Hutchison Ferry Rd., regarding an Entering Auto; 2018 Jeep Cherokee, white in color. Lieutenant Patrick Trolinger responded and arrived on scene at 0751 hours. Lt. Trolinger made contact with the complainant/victim, Sandranna Washington; employee with Moss Energy. Washington told Lt. Trolinger she arrived to work on May 3, 2021, at 0645 hours. Washington told Lt. Trolinger at 1200 hours she left to go to lunch, arriving to her location, and discovered her Purse Missing.

Upon arrival, Deputy Smith spoke with (Misty Meredith) and her husband and they advised their 4-wheeler had been taken/moved from the location they had it parked at in the back yard.

Edmond received a phone call from Decatur County Correctional Institute (DCCI) Warden Gordon Screen. Warden Screen advised Inv. Edmond that he had information regarding a Possible Contraband Drop. On this date and time, both offenders were arrested and transported to the Decatur County Jail.

On Thursday, May 6, 2021, at approximately 0648 hours, Corporal Timothy Fowler was located on Faceville Highway, in reference to a road check detail. While in the area of Faceville Highway and North of Recovery Road, Cpl. Fowler was posted on the edge of the roadway observing traffic for speeding autos. Cpl. Fowler visualized a black in color truck coming around the curve south of Smithtown Road. Cpl. Fowler further visualized that the vehicle appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed.
