Marjorie Sandlin Jones, age 91, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away at Memorial Manor surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
Services for Mrs. Jones will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. Ryan Wade will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Marjorie Sandlin Jones was born on June 6, 1935, in Brinson, Georgia, to Sam E. Sandlin and Ella Campbell Sandlin. She married John M. Jones, and they were married for over 50 years at the time of his death. Marjorie and John were charter members of Fellowship Baptist Church of Brinson. She loved her Sunday School class and was dedicated to her church. Marjorie was a hard worker. She was a hostess for International Paper Company for over 20 years, keeping everyone well fed and comfortable when the company had guests. She finished her career with retirement after working in banking. Marjorie loved life on the farm; gardening and handling vegetables, going fishing, and being in the yard all made her happy. She was deeply dedicated to her family, church, and community. Marjorie will be deeply missed by her many friends and family.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Stephen “Stevie” Jones (Kerry) of Brinson; sisters, Elsie Seymore (Charles) and Dorothy Brown; brother, David Sandlin (Glenda); grandchildren, Bridget Schwartz (Stephen) of Washington, D.C., Stephanie Jones of Bainbridge, Samuel “Sam” Jones, and Seth Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Sammy Jones.
