Maude Watson Wright, age 95, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Services for Mrs. Wright will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 18, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. James Williamson will officiate. She will be buried beside her husband, the late Agnew Wright and her firstborn son, Gregory, in Floral Memory Gardens, Albany, GA. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Maude Watson Harbuck Wright was born on August 2, 1930, in Mauk, Georgia, to Dave Thomas Harbuck and Maude Alva Watson Harbuck. She married Ector Agnew Wright on December 22, 1950. They shared their lives for 61 years. Maude was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church of Bainbridge. Maude Wright loved everyone and said the words to them regularly. She had a ready smile and a joyful spirit. Maude was always up for the next adventure. She and her best buddy, Ruby Thornton Brown, were always seen together, whether they were shopping for bargains, buying groceries, or just making someone’s day with their outgoing personalities. Together they never met a stranger and would always make sure to leave you with a warm smile and a reminder of how much they loved you. A loving mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Remember… “I love ya!”
Maude is survived by her children, Donna Cannon (James) of Bainbridge, Diane Donaldson (Wayne) of Ball Ground, Georgia, and Donald Wright of Bainbridge; sisters, Juanita Tant of Buena Vista, Georgia, and Bonnie Sue Harbuck of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren, Ryan Weathersby (Ashley), Josh Weathersby, Heather Donaldson Farris (Peter), Holley Makela (Taylor), Khelee Sawyer-Henry (Jacob); great-grandchildren, Colby Weathersby, Kaitlyn Weathersby, Maddie Barber, Lexie Weathersby, Hollynd Makela, Ronin Makela, Lilly Sawyer, and Liam Farris; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and siblings, Virgil Harbuck, Dave Harbuck, Freddie Harbuck, Josephine Welch, Dorothy Hill, Mary Jo Mines, Merrell Ramick, and Lessie Wyrick. Mama, we will forever miss you till eternity… Donna, Diane & Don.
