Mary Ida Turner, 85, of Bainbridge, GA went to be with our Lord and Savior on the morning of August 12, 2025 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital.
Ms. Turner was born on April 12, 1940 in Sopchoppy, FL to Thomas A. Davis, Sr. & Verlie Davis. She is survived by her daughter Tamara Buckhaulter (Keith), granddaughters Rebecca Stephenson (Andrew), Audrey Moore (Parker), Lindsey Davis (Byron), and 8 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Ms. Turner is preceded in death by her first husband Tracey Buzbee, second husband Jim Turner, her daughter Tracette Buzbee, and siblings Virginia Dennard, Thomas A. Davis, Jr., Betty Swicord, & Fred Davis.
Ms. Turner graduated from Sopchoppy High School, married, and made her home in Waukeenau, FL for the next 5 years, then moved to Tallahassee, FL for the next 35 years. She worked as a data entry operator for the State of Florida, then with the Florida Institute of CPA’s. After her retirement, she moved to Bainbridge, GA to be closer to family, where she lived for the next 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved hunting for treasures and “knickknacks” at yard sales and antique shops. She also loved playing Bingo, board games, fishing, and a good TV show. She also loved her best furry friend, Molly. She was Baptist by faith.
A celebration of life & visitation is scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Cox-Ivey Funeral Home, Bainbridge, GA from 6:30-8:00.
