Things Are Not As They Seem

There is a way which seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. (Pro.14:12, 16:25 KJV).

As we follow Christ, we will come upon many things that seem to lead the right way, but a closer look would reveal that they are in fact the wrong way.

The word “seem” means “to appear, look, give the impression of being, have the semblance of, look alike, look as if, strike one as being.” Things that seem similar can be very different. Something that has the semblance of being right can under closer scrutiny be found as inherently wrong.

No one would knowingly take the wrong way that leads to death and eternal separation from God. But the devil has many false ways that he has carefully engineered to appear as the true way, deceiving many men into taking his path of destruction.

Satan’s ways seem to be correct because he uses all the right names, tags, and titles to influence and attract men to follow. But just because something has a Christian tag on it, doesn’t mean it is Christian. Just because the name of Jesus is used, doesn’t mean Jesus is part of it or that He is actually honored and worshiped. Just because they use a Bible and talk about the Holy Spirit and sing Christian songs, doesn’t mean the Holy Spirit is there actively ministering. There is a lot of so-called Christianity that is being pumped out of churches today that is not of God and the result is sending multitudes to Hell.

Satan has his own version of Christianity, and it seems enough like true biblical Christianity that multitudes are deceived and get “saved” and continue on their way to Hell. Because of false preachers and religions that preach “another Jesus” multitudes upon multitudes are going to Hell in Jesus’ name.

There are a lot of preachers who seem to be preaching the truth, but the way to know for sure if they are, is through careful examination of the Bible (KJV) (Acts 17: 11). There are a lot of churches and religions that seem to be of God, but the way to know if they are is by measuring their message next to scripture.

By checking with the Word of God, we can take those things that seem right to us and know for sure if they are or not. We have God’s Word (KJV) and there is no excuse for us deviating from what we know is right to something that seems to be right and which actually leads to death and separation from God.
