Bainbridge High School 2024 Graduation Week Information

Congratulations seniors on becoming a 2024 Bainbridge High School graduate! Thank you parents and guardians for the support of your students along this memorable educational journey. The class of 2024 will be honored throughout Graduation Week culminating at the 2024 Bainbridge High School Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, May 18th at 8:30 A.M. in the Bainbridge High School Gymnasium. This letter aims to furnish you with essential details as the big day draws near.

Senior Finals

Thursday, May 9th
Class of 2024 Third and Fourth Block Finals

Class of 2024 First and Second Block Finals


Graduation Week

Senior grades are due at noon, and seniors will be notified of their status concerning Graduation.


BHS will host the annual Scholarship Night at 6:00 P.M.. Students will be given an invitation if receiving an award or scholarship.


Graduation / Baccalaureate Practice at 8:30 A.M. at Bainbridge High School. Students must report to the gym and find their seats. Students will park in the student parking lot. After graduation practice is complete, students participating in Baccalaureate will remain for a final walk-through of the ceremony to ensure all participants understand the logistics of the Baccalaureate program.

The Baccalaureate will occur in the BHS Gym at 6:00 P.M. with Speaker Mr. Tommy Howell. BHS seniors will report to the BHS Band Room, where we will line up before transitioning to the BHS Gymnasium. Students need to arrive and be in place by 5:00 P.M. Students may park in the student parking lot. Students must wear their graduation attire (cap, gown, black shoes, black pants, white dress shirt and dark tie, or black dress) No tickets are required to attend this event.


Graduation Practice at 8:30 A.M. at Bainbridge High School. Students must report to the BHS Band Room and find their seats.

(Bearcat Stroll will take place at the student’s respective elementary school on May 17th at 1:00 AM). Seniors should report to the media center of the elementary school they attended between 12:30 and 12:45 P.M., wearing their cap and gowns. Seniors should dress school appropriate following the dress code, however formal graduation attire under the cap and gown does not have to be worn for the Bearcat Stroll. Students are required to wear their cap and gowns.


Graduation Day

● Students will park in front of Bainbridge High School.

● Students will report to the BHS Band Room.

● Students must be in their seats by 7:15 A.M. for attendance to be taken.

● Students must be dressed appropriately for the ceremony (cap and gown, black shoes, white dress shirt with dark tie, or black dress and black shoes)

● No personal or club stoles/cords or decorated hats are allowed.

● Breakfast will be provided for graduates


Graduation Practice

● Graduation Practices are mandatory for all graduates.

● Students not attending graduation practices will not be permitted to participate in the graduation ceremony.

● Seniors are to report to the Bainbridge High School campus and park in the student parking lot each day. The first day of practice students should report to the gym through the front lobby. For Thursday and Friday practices students should park in the student parking lot and enter through the band room doors that face the student parking lot. After practice, students must leave campus immediately- no entering the building.

● Student dress for graduation practice should be school-appropriate. Clothing should be comfortable with good walking shoes as we will be moving quite a bit in preparation for Graduation.


Graduation Tickets

Students will receive six (6) tickets for friends and family to attend. No extra tickets will be available. Graduation tickets will be distributed to graduates on May 17th, following the last graduation practice, to ensure all students are in attendance. Tickets will not be given to students with outstanding fees for lost or damaged chromebooks, calculators, uniforms, etc. The bookkeeper will be present each day of practice for students to pay fees. Student Parking: Students must park in the student parking lot for graduation practices. On graduation day, graduates will park in front of the school and enter the door by the chorus room. Local law enforcement will be on hand to direct students accordingly.


Dress for Graduation Ceremony (Graduates)

● Mandatory Graduation Dress Code to be worn with cap and gown:

● Males: Black pants, Black shoes, White shirt, and Dark tie

● Females: Black pants, dark dress (hemline line should be above the gown length), and black shoes. It is recommended that you do not wear extremely high heels or shoes that tie around the ankle to avoid discomfort or falling.

● No Croc-style shoes, flip flops, or athletic shoes.

● No scarves, headbands, and/or any other headgear will be allowed.

● No sunglasses.

● The Mortar Board/Cap is to be worn flat (not tilted), with the point in the middle of the forehead, with the tassel on the right side. Do not write or put anything on the top of the mortarboard/cap.

● Only BHS stoles and cords can be worn at Graduation. (See Principal for approval of other cords). Dress code will be checked before graduation starts.


Graduation Rules

Graduation is intended to be a memorable experience for all our graduates and families. Therefore, we request all in attendance to be courteous to other graduates and their families. If there is any outburst, the spectator(s) will be removed from the ceremony and charged and arrested according to GA Code 20-2-1181- Disruption of a public school. Doors will open at 7:00 A.M. at the BHSGymnasium and close at 8:25 A.M., with no one being allowed to enter when the doors close for the ceremony. Seating will be provided on a first come, first served basis.


Cafeteria

In the event a spectator is late and still would like to watch the graduation ceremony they may report to the BHS Cafeteria and watch the streamed live version. The spectator(s) must provide their graduation ticket. If the spectator does not have a ticket, they will not be allowed to enter.


Spectator Parking

All guest parking will be in front of the BHS Gym with overflow parking behind the BHSGym.There will be reserved parking spaces for persons with disabilities in front of the BHS Gym, but a handicap sticker or tag must be provided.


After Ceremony/Diplomas

Diplomas will not be mailed. Graduates will pick up their diplomas from inside the multi-purpose room of the gym following the graduation ceremony.


Graduation Pictures

Graduation pictures will be provided through BPI Photography. All graduates will have a picture taken receiving their diplomas and the proof will be emailed. If you have any questions, please call BPI toll free at 1-866-363-6936.

In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place as scheduled. We will make adjustments to the student processional.
