Mr. Sanford Davis, age 87, passed away on April 25, 2024. Services for Mr. Davis will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge, Georgia, with his nephew, Evangelist Jimmy Davis officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Mr. Davis was born on August 18, 1936, in Rome, Georgia, to his parents, Cary Marion Davis and Jewel Johnson Davis. On December 27, 1980, he married his beloved wife, Lynn, who has predeceased him. Sanford served in the United States Army until he was recruited by the CIA where he worked and lived all over the world.
Mr. Davis is survived by his sons, Gary Davis (Lisa), Greg Davis, and Tim Presnell (Lauren), as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Hobbs (Jim). He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his son, Michael Davis, and his brother, Brantley Davis.
