Gargaria Hawkins Spooner, 51, of Climax, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Johnson Cemetery with Pastor Steve Brooks officiating.

Gargaria Dolores Hawkins was born October 7, 1972, in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Billy & Dolores Perry Hawkins. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1990, and earned a computer technician certificate from Bainbridge Junior College. Gargaria worked at Sterling IT and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Always smiling or laughing, that was evidence of Gargaria’s outgoing personality. She was quick to step in on a project and support however she could. She was mindful of others and would give you the shirt off her back. Her deeds were fueled by, “What if this was my family?”
Gargaria loved all animals and was intrigued by their behavior as they came to know her as their friend. She enjoyed crafting and seemed to always have some sort of project “in progress”. Though she was a tad hard-headed, she was open ideas and always made you feel like a life-long friend.
Survivors include her daughter, Zoie Spooner, and her parents, Billy & Dolores Hawkins. Gargaria was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wallace & Betty Hawkins and Woodrow & Hazel Perry.
