Marshall Stanley Smith was born October 6, 1960, in Donalsonville, GA, the son of Raymond & Pauline Johnson Smith. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and retired from FRM as a receiving clerk. Marshall was Baptist by faith.

Outside was where everything happened for Marshall. He spent hours tending his vegetable garden anticipating the harvest. Catching a mess of fish was the signal to get the grease hot and prepare for the “lessons” Marshall was sure to share. He was attracted to old cars and tinkered with them until they were running as smoothly as a sewing machine. Georgia Tech was his college sports team and Saturdays in the South were almost filled with white & gold.

Survivors include his brothers, David Smith, James Smith, and Carl Smith all of Bainbridge; his brother-in-law, Richard Bergeron; his sister-in-law, Carol Smith; and his nieces & nephews, Travis Taylor, René Smith, Brantley Smith, and Meghan Bergeron. In addition to his parents, Marshall was preceded in death by his siblings, Lynda Bergeron and Raymond Smith, Jr.

Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321)
