William Gaudy Whaley was born October 13, 1941, in Dothan, AL, the son of Pete & Ruby Starling Whaley. After high school, Bill pursued a career in cabinetry. He lived in Pascagoula, MS prior to moving to Bainbridge fifty years ago. Bill was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

As a trusted cabinet maker, Bill spent hours upon hours in the shop working with his partner, Monroe Godwin. He was a workaholic but also enjoyed spending time outdoors. At the ripe ol’ age of 80, Bill decided it was time to retire and spend a little more time hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his children, Don Whaley of Bainbridge, Kim Sabol and Kathy Whaley of Port St. Lucie, FL; and his siblings, Rodney Whaley, Twyla Austin, Pat Cole, and Debra Usry. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Whaley.
